The Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province has initiated the application for Guangdong Engineering Technology Research Center 2025. Details of application requirements are as follows:

Ⅰ. Duration & Funding

Two or three years. No financial support.

Ⅱ. Quantity Limit

2.1 The total R&D expenditure in this field was no less than 30 million yuan in the past 3 years (2022.1.1~2024.12.31), and not less than 10 million yuan in 2024.

2.2 The equipment original value is no less than 3 million yuan. The full-time scientific researchers are no less than 20, and the director has been working in CUHK-Shenzhen for 3 years.

2.3 The engineering center owns no less than 5 independent intellectual property rights, of which no less than 3 intellectual property rights were obtained in the past 3 years. In addition, the engineering center has led or participated in scientific research projects of the provincial-level or above in the past 3 years, and has formed no less than 3 representative results in cooperation with enterprises.

2.4 A municipal (district)-level scientific research platform has been established, with a sound management structure and operation  mechanism.

Ⅲ. Procedure of Application

3.1 Collect Application Intention

Please feedback the application intention form (Annex 1) by each school to luoyan@cuhk.edu.cn by 15:00 on August 18, 2025. RAO will organize the intramural selection according to the feedback, and the notification will be issued separately.

3.2 Formal Application

Please complete the application form online, upload the supporting documents, and submit the application via https://sticapply.sz.gov.cn/ for review by 17:00 on September 5, 2025, without submitting any hard copies.

Ⅳ. Notes

4.1 Only one application can be declared by CUHK-Shenzhen.

4.2 The engineering center shall be named “GuangDong Engineering Technology Research Center of ×××”, which can’t be used by other centers. The names of the established engeering centers are available on http://www.gdetrc.net.

Ⅴ. Required Attachment Materials for Application

5.1 Materials related to R&D investment in the last 3 years in the declared field (final statement of funding).

5.2 Original value materials of R&D equipment (purchase invoices or special reports are required).

5.3 Intellectual property materials (no less than 5 independent intellectual property rights, of which no less than 3 intellectual property rights were obtained in the past 3 years).

5.4 Materials for R&D activities (project contracts, etc.).

5.5 Achievement transformation materials.

5.6 Certificate of education background, professional title and social security payment records of full-time R&D personnel from 2024.5~2.24.7, tax or social security payment records of the director from 2021.7~2024.7.

5.7 The approval document and management system of the municipal (district)-level scientific research platform (or the school-level scientific research platform).

5.8 Materials of the industry-university-research cooperation (no less than 3 representative results; for the joint construction of an engineering center, a joint co-construction agreement and the relevant materials for the substantive industry-university-research cooperation between the partners shall be provided).
