Seventh College
Seventh College is the first graduate college of CUHKSZ. Its establishment signifies the university’s innovation and continuous exploration in the path of holistic education through the college system, making new contributions to education in the Greater Bay Area as well as the wider country. Seventh College aspires to establish a loving and supportive college community, and cultivate young leaders with a strong sense of mission, solid character, and a spirit of service. We aim to nurture talented graduates who are innovative and possess strong leadership capabilities, to serve our country and the world.
I. College Culture
1. Adopt "Life Influencing Life" Education Model
Under the guidance of the College Master and Associate Master, Seventh College strives to build a close-knit community characterized by a bridge of acceptance, appreciation, affection, availability, accountability and authority. The College aims to develop an educational model where the growth and development of the College leadership - including the College Master, administrative staff, Wardens, and residential tutors - directly drives and facilitates the incremental growth of the students.
2. Cultivate Youth Leaders with Mission, Character and a Spirit of Service
Through the loving bonding characterized by intimate relationships, the College aims to create a nurturing environment for students to grow, excel, and innovate. Within this environment, students can continuously pursue excellence in character and skills, freely engage in artistic, scientific, and technological innovation, and, with a spirit of humble service, create value for the society that nurtures them. In this process, students also fulfill their life mission and harvest life significance and joy.
II. Student Care Service
1. Care from Masters
Our Master and Associate Master regularly correspond with students, offering advice and guidance, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have. Additionally, the College organizes Afternoon Tea with the Master sessions on a regular basis. These gatherings provide a chance for students to directly discuss their issues and future plans with the College Master in an informal, relaxed and approachable setting.
2. Care from Wardens
The Master, Associate Master, and Wardens make it a point to regularly host College Family Dinners. These gatherings allow students to deeply experience the unique value and warmth of the College Family under the embrace of the College's culture of "love". Furthermore, each of the three wardens dedicates two hours per week to holding Warden Open Office Hours. During these sessions, students can approach Wardens directly to seek guidance, ask questions, or share any concerns they may have.
3. Care from Tutors
Tutors of Seventh College actively organize communal meals and lively Floor Events to foster close and regular connections with students. In holidays that hold special significance and during midterm/final exam periods, Wardens and tutors also hold Holiday Gatherings, Lucky Draws, and Gift-giving to help students feel the warmth of the holidays and alleviate academic pressure.
4. Peer Care
Resident Student Association of Seventh College continuously organizes a variety of activities, such as Outdoor Sports and Career Planning Lectures, and provides a network of peer support.
5. Special Care Services
To provide specialized care and support for students in need, Seventh College has established a Care Team and develop personalized care plans to ensure student health and wellbeing.
