Description

Urban experience is a unique experience shared by modern people. Urban space could be distorted and reshaped by the practice that people inhabit and make use of the city, the way that they perceive and memorize the city, as well as their imagination and prediction of the city. This course intends to introduce the cutting-edge theories of urban studies from an interdisciplinary perspective, and thus to interpret the representation of different worldwide metropolises in literature, film and the arts. In this way, the course will lead the students to read the city as a text, and experience the relationship between the city and citizens.
