Description

As a continuation from the first semester, the focus of this course continues to be teaching culture and facilitating German language acquisition through listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will continue to interact with authentic language in context. Content focuses on “survival” needs of the immediate environment as well as more intricate topics in order to express personal meaning and to apply different strategies and techniques to engage in casual conversation. Students will continue to develop an awareness of cultural norms, values, and culturally relevant appropriate customs and events. Accuracy is expanded to more complex grammar structures with more advanced vocabulary. Students will demonstrate the ability to think critically by analyzing linguistic structures as well as by reflecting on and making cross-cultural comparisons.
