Description
FIN3080 is an introductory level finance course aims to introduce students some basic concepts and theories for investment analysis, help them to develop a framework for understanding how to analyse a portfolio and price financial assets. The discussion takes the perspective of an investment manager or informed individual investors. Topics covered include the tradeoff between risk and return, diversification, market efficiency, valuation of stocks, fixed income securities, and options, as well as investment strategies. This course emphasizes a logically rigorous understanding of the theories and practices of financial markets.
