Description
This course provides the basic knowledge of semiconductor physics, including electrons and holes, energy band diagram, Fermi energy, intrinsic and doped semiconductors, drift and diffusion currents. The principles of P-N junctions, bipolar and MOS transistors will be explained. The device performance measures, namely current efficiency, transit frequency and intrinsic gain, will be introduced. Other topics covered include basic analog circuits and digital circuits at the transistor level. This course includes mandatory laboratory modules.
