The “Media Talent Workshop” hosted by the Communication and Public Relations Office of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen has invited four industry experts from the Intelligent Platform Design Experience Department of Tencent to share their experience on December 6th, 2019. Topics to be discussed include machine learning, multidimensional vision, UI design and sound logic. We look forward to the participation of teachers, students and the public.
01 Machine Learning and Design Art
The speaker will brief the development of new AI technologies such as Machine Learning and generative adversarial networks in the field of design and graphic images, as well as the productized application scenarios for these technologies.
Speaker: Chang Lisheng
After long-term exposure to the design and implementation of various platforms (web applications, mobile applications, desktop software and games), Chang Lisheng is adept in formulating designing specifications, such as product design style and unified design language. At present, he is responsible for Tencent's projects of self-developed hardware and AI plus industries in the company’s Intelligent Platform Design Experience Department. Before that, he was responsible for product design for Kingsoft, Microsoft, and Weipiao.cn. Products designed by him during his startup journey include Intreest (student social app), Uhave (mobile photo book app), and Wehue (photo sharing social website).
02 Multidimensional Visual Expression
The speaker will demonstrate how to use the multi-dimensional representations of animation, 3D, and illustrations to enhance the output and designers’ communication and collaboration skills in project design.
Speaker: Zhang Yipeng
Zhang Yipeng is currently responsible for brand and AI-related design in the Intelligent Platform Design Experience Department of Tencent. He has served Gionee Communications, Tencent, and GO Desktop (contract theme designer), mainly responsible for the visual design of mobile operating systems, brands, and UI. He has a major in visual communication design and has taught courses on mobile theme design at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
03 Service and Voice UI design
The speaker will share the difference between Voice UI design and traditional UI design in combination with actual cases. If voice and touch are both available on one device, how do users choose? How does UI design guide users make the decision? Following this sharing, you will learn how to lead your users to focu son the interaction between the VUI and the interface.
Speaker: Xiong Wei
Xiong Wei has participated in interface design work on web, mobile applications, OS, wearable devices, smart hardware, AR/VR/AI and many other different products. She is skilled in analyzing product requirements in-depth to formulate design specifications for a unified style on different types of interfaces. Xiong Wei currently works in the Tencent Intelligent Platform Design Experience Department, responsible for Tencent's projects of self-developed hardware, AI technology landing, and hardware equipment.
04 Logic of Sound
The speaker will introduce the design logic of the sound channel, and analyze the close relationship between the characteristics of the sound channel itself and the logic of the VUI design, which is different from the traditional GUI design. In addition, the speaker will work with the audience to discuss what users will say and how should the device respond.
Speaker: Yang Guodong
Yang Guodong has extensive experience in the interactive design of mobile operating systems, intelligent hardware, AR/VR/AI and other emerging technologies. At present, he is responsible for Tencent's projects of self-developed hardware and AI technology application in the Intelligent Platform Design Experience Department. His expertise includes interactive frameworks, product definitions, and creating design specifications and languages for new projects.
