The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen Regulations on Alumni Card
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen Alumni Card serves as membership identification to the alumni community. The Alumni Card aims to strengthen the link between alumni and their Alma mater, to enable the alumni to enter the campus and access to defined university facilities. In order to regulate the use of Alumni Card and improve alumni services, regulations on Alumni Card applications, usage and management are set up as below:
I. Alumni Card Application
Application for Alumni Card is made on a voluntary basis. Alumni shall submit their applications to the Alumni Affairs Office.
The Alumni Card applications are processed twice a year, normally before the date of commencement for either undergraduate students or graduate students (detailed dates would be notified in advance). The Alumni Affairs Office will handle the Alumni Card applications uniformly for submitted in the year. And the applications received after the processing period will be deferred till the next processing time.
Note: Alumni who have left the university before 2019 and have not had the alumni card are suggested to apply for the alumni card during 2019.
Each alumni is entitled to hold one CUHK-Shenzhen Alumni Card.
To apply for the Alumni Card, please complete the application form online, upload a copy of the student card and a one-inch ID photo, and pay Alumni Card production fee of 30 yuan. Those who do not upload materials or pay the production fees within the specified time will be deemed to have waived the application.
When the Alumni Card is completed, it may be collected at the Campus Card Centre or be posted to the applicant with the payment mode of paid-by-consignee, upon the requirements of the applicants.
II. Use of the Alumni Card
1. The alumni cardholders enjoy the following privileges:
(1) Attending various alumni activities of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen;
(2) Access to the campus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen;
(3) Access to the library for reading and self-study. However, the library is restricted from access to the alumni during the final exam period of each semester;
(4) Enjoy up to 4 hours of free parking when entering the campus;
(5) Enjoy a series of discounted tickets for arts and cultural activities provided by the University Art Center;
(6) Other usage as the University may designate from time to time.
Holder of an Alumni Card of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, should abide by the national laws and relevant regulations of the University.
The Alumni Card is the property of the University and is for personal use only, and may not be lent, rented or sold. In the event of violations of the abovementioned regulation, the Alumni Card shall be rescinded and may not be re-applied for.
The Alumni Card adopts the real-name system. Card holders may be required to present national ID card with the alumni card to verify identity.
Alumni shall present the Alumni Card to pass through the access control system when entering the campus and each alumni is limited to bring no more than 5 friends or family members to the University at a time. To bring more than 5 visitors into the University, application should be made to the Alumni Affairs Office in advance for approval.
III. Lost and Reissuing the Alumni Card
If the Alumni Card is lost, it should be reported immediately. The cardholder should contact the Alumni Affairs Office by calling at 0755-8427 3683 or email to the service mailbox firstname.lastname@example.org to report the loss and requesting for the Alumni Card. The card holder is liable and accountable for any misuse of the card prior to reporting the lost of the card.
If the Alumni Card is damaged and cannot be used, the cardholder may contact the Alumni Affairs Office and provide a valid ID for replacement. The damaged Alumni Card must be returned.
Alumni who require reissuing or change their Alumni Card for personal reasons shall be charged a fee of RMB 30 per card. No refund will be made to the cost incurred when Alumni voluntarily return their cards.
Any person who finds a lost Alumni Card, may contact or return it to the Alumni Affairs Office.
