Post Specification
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collection resources construction including books and periodicals (print and electronic), and network resources; purchase all resources according to government purchasing procedure;
- Implementation of the budget and guidance for resource procurement;
- Catalogue and check all print book data, activate e-resource data and maintain all medical collections;
- Serves all users for circulation desk service of medical library, including book borrowing and returning, book shelves management, user consultation, etc.
- Participate in the curriculum construction and undertake the liaison, coordination and support of the teaching and research needs of the School and the University Library;
- Track the development of disciplines in schools, improve the quality of subject services, innovate service models, and lead the service orientation of disciplines;
- Actively participate in professional academic activities, pay attention to and update professional knowledge;
- Management of all fixed asset in medical library, including print resources, furniture and facilities.
- Oral and written instruction and direction must be organized, clearly communicated, and presented in a positive manner.
- Excellent customer service skills including the ability to engage, interact and communicate with patience, clarity, tact, and courtesy are essential. Regular evening and weekend hours required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science OR equivalent education and experience relevant to the position, advanced degrees in biological or medical relevant fields will be given preference in consideration.
- More than 3 years of successful experience in the University or Research Library, or research work experience after college graduation (Working experience in foreign research universities or medical school is preferred).

(7) Ability to identify issues and problem with analysis and solutions proposals quickly.
Salary and Benefits
Salary will be competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-SZ and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labor laws applicable in the PRC. The appointee will be based at the University campus in Shenzhen, PRC.
